The developers of a Germantown-area retirement community are ready to begin round two.

Confluent Senior Living and Harbor Retirement Associates, the co-developers of HarborChase of Germantown, have announced construction will soon begin on a second project, dubbed HarborChase of Cordova.

The 158,083-square-foot development will deliver 144 apartments for area seniors and is planned to open in the first quarter of 2020.

Located at 7518 Dexter Grove Drive in an unincorporated section of Cordova, the three-story building will include 60 independent-living, 50 assisted-living and 34 memory-care apartments in a mix of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units.

Other amenities will include a 24-hour staff, full-service bistro, barber and beauty salon, library, pool, fitness and wellness center, putting green, a fully enclosed memory support courtyard, and daily scheduled transportation.

Rosemann & Associates will be the project’s architect. The project team has not yet announced a general contractor.

“We’re very encouraged by the Memphis market as we expand in the metro area with our second development,” Marshall Burton, president and CEO of Confluent Development, said in a statement. “This project marks Confluent Senior Living’s 18th community across nine states, and we look forward to continuing the growth of our strong record delivering quality senior living.”

In March, the developers broke ground on the $23 million, 114,450-square-foot HarborChase of Germantown, which will include 123 apartments and is expected to open in 2019.

Editor's note: This story has been updated to reflect that the project team has not officially named a contractor.
